Who built Mac?

Mac was built by Don Foulds - a well known artist for his creations around Saskatchewan and Newfoundland.

What is Mac made of?

Mac's body was made of a heavy metal pipe framework. Then thinner pipes and metal strips were added to the basic frame. The entire body was covered with metal mesh.

The framework sculpture was mounted on a base and the mesh was coated with a cemet mixture. The body (framework) was covered with three coats of cement.


How big is Mac?

Mac is nearly ten meters (32 feet) tall and weighs about 9000 kg (10 tons).


How old is Mac?

Mac the Moose was completed in May, 1984.


How did Mac get his name?

Mac is named after a well-known citizen of Moose Jaw - the late Alderman Les McKenzie.


Why was Mac created?

Mac was created as a Tourist Attraction.
